|
|
Trying to run an 8man ventrilo server since that's the max # of people a free one can put on it, but here is the info.
IP: 76.186.92.115
Port: 3784
PW: dd
If server already has 8 ppl on it then others can't get in.. if people wanna download the ventserv program and make another free 8 man server that'd be cool too |

| I'm sure you can find someone who will host a teamspeak. Teamspeak is free, and if someone leaves their computer on a lot of the time, they can host it from right there, or find a dedicated server for $5 a month. |

| I've tried TS, Skype, MSN, and Vent.... out of those.. I like Vent the best. And are you volunteering db to pay for a server? >.> I leave my computer on all the time.. so the vent server is usually always on. |

| But when you host your own teamspeak, you can allow up to as many players as you want on it, as opposed to 8 on vent. Which is why I like teamspeak better. |

| How's the sound quality, and where do you get 'free' servers from.. and how bad would it lag the person hosting? |

Sound quality is good, all you have to do is go to goteamspeak.com download the teamspeak client or teamspeak server and host it from there. It gives you admin access to login from the browser. When you host it, you have to go to the teamspeak folder on your computer and open up a folder and it will tell you the super admin pass, etc. |

| ya.. already have client on computer i think... some people like the program.. some people don't... what i need to know is how bad can it lag the host if a lot of people are on. I've used teamspeak when playing FFXI.. but i like vent better... sound seems to be better. Skype seems to have the clearest quality, then vent, then TS if i remember. But skype can lag you bad and it's organization is bad because one person has to call everyone instead of other way around. That's where vent and TS have an advantage. TS having unlimited clients logging in would be good. If we ever get to that point where lots of ppl are on and using a internet chat program... TS would be good to use then... but I don't think we're at that point yet.... |

Well, one of the new guildies (SnuffLuffLagus) can host a teamspeak, he's on a 30mb connection, and has hosted a teamspeak before, and it's never lagged, the sound was great. And it's always up 24/7. Unless he loses power, or has to restart his computer. |

Ok, since he's a friend of mine, I'll ask him if he wants to post it, or I'll post it for him tonight. Whichever I guess is fine. |
